| Data-based driver education
works on the principle that we can use modern web-based
technology to individually assess each driver's beliefs,
attitudes & performance capabilities, & give immediate
valuable feedback on limitations and how to improve. |

Driving
is a freedom that older drivers want to keep. But
what if deteriorating cognitive skills place the
driver (and others) at risk for a crash?

| How does one
measure the normal visual and cognitive effects from
aging versus serious long term effects? More importantly,
are there perceptual skills that the older driver can
improve with practice? |
| These are
impossible questions to answer without data. The Occupational
Therapist faces a difficult balancing act between
maintaining
senior driver mobility and continued safety. Now, ALERTDRIVER introduces
revolutionary data-based assessment and training to
eliminate some of the guesswork in the
process. |
| The ALERTDRIVER Senior
program is a structured voluntary program for assessing
and training senior driver visual attention
skills. The program is designed to be administered
by an Occupational Therapist. |

| While there are many “experts” on
driving in every community, most programs are one-way.
They present bulk information to the driver and wish for
a positive outcome. There is no attempt to measure results.
Few programs have taken the years to develop the scientific
infrastructure to deliver individualized feedback about
the effects of safety messages. Those effects are the precursor
to permanent changes on the road and they are lost to most
programs. ALERTDRIVER captures this data. |
