Ferquently Asked Questions
What is AlertDriver?
AlertDriver is an innovative program that offers skill-oriented material that drivers can use immediately on the road. Don’t worry - this is not a typical DMV drivers’ information program. The material focuses on distracted and aggressive driving behaviors and is based on 20 years of research about what causes crashes. The core material is enriched with research, videos, text, interviews, slide shows, surveys and interactive chat. We’ve had thousands of customers who say that this course should be taken by anyone who drives – regardless of age or experience. (See our reviews at www.alertdriver.com.)
Why is risk management important?
AlertDriver is the pioneer in data-based driver education. We measure all the drivers' ratings of course effectiveness along 15 dimensions, including perceived safety and behavior change. This can be used to evaluate current driver education/training programs in your company. We also examine all of the drivers’ changes in beliefs, attitudes and behaviors relative to distracted and aggressive driving. Risk management starts with measuring changes to risky attitudes and behaviors.
How much does the course cost?
The program is priced on the number of drivers enrolled. Training your entire fleet is often less than the price of one crash.
How do we pay for the course?
Once an account is set up, you will be provided with a monthly invoice.
Can we preview the course beforehand?
Absolutely. We provide a free demonstration course for each company. Please fill out the small form on the ProFleet home page and we will contact you at your convenience to discuss our course and answer any questions.
What are the basic instructions?
1) Your drivers will receive a welcome email with a username and password. Please save this email for future reference. To log in go to www.alertdiver.com and click anywhere on the ProFleet logo on the right side of the screen.
2) Enter your username and password into the REGISTERED USERS boxes located on the right side of the login screen.
3) You then will be directed to your own personal progress page. Click on the highlighted link in Step 1. Once you have completed a step, the next step will become active. The very last step will be completed by AlertDriver staff upon successful completion of the course.
How do we register our drivers?
We will need an employee list with their names, emails, phone numbers and a start date. We then send welcome letters to each employee with instructions to login. A company administrator is also copied on this correspondence.
Can we add new drivers?
Yes, most companies usually include the program with any new hires with driving privileges. Just send us an email with the new employee name and email address. We will send out welcome letters on your behalf by the next business day.
What information do we need to provide?
The only information we need to start are names and accurate email addresses for all drivers. We would prefer to have individual phone numbers in order to contact drivers if there are any problems.
Can our drivers contact you during the course for assistance?
We provide our contact information and email address to all drivers. If they have any questions or need assistance they can contact us at any time.
When can our drivers take the program?
The course is available 24/7. The username and password function will also allow drivers to start and stop as often as they wish to complete the program. The program will begin where the user previously left off.
How long does the course take?
The course was designed for a few hours. The amount of time it actually takes depends on your reading and comprehension ability. Some people prefer to do a few sections at a time while others prefer to complete the course in one session. The course is not timed so each driver can go as quickly or as slowly as they want.
What is the time frame for our drivers?
The time frame is determined by your company. We usually recommend a 2 week period. The course is available 24/7.
What if my drivers don't finish the course on time?
The usernames and passwords will remain in our system and are not deleted.
What is the chat feature?
There are "chat" features located throughout the course in which you will see others' answers and you will be asked to expand on the section theme from your own perspective. The chat responses can be thoughtful and sometimes entertaining BUT please remember that these answers are forwarded to supervisors and might be seen by other drivers in the group. Your evaluation of the course may also be seen by others.
Why are 'chats' important?
New studies are starting to show that extended discussion of safety issues translates into increased road awareness and fewer crashes. (See our white papers at www.alertdriver.com.)
What are the survey's purpose?
There are driving belief-attitude-behavior surveys at the beginning and end of the course. Unlike the chat, we keep your responses on the surveys confidential and do not share your individual ratings with anyone. Please answer these questions openly and honestly. At the end, our system will compare you to our at-large database and you may find the results interesting.
Is the information confidential?
Yes. All personal information we gather is strictly confidential. However, our course does require drivers to provide personal examples of the various concepts. All shared quotes are anonymous.

After completion, the company will be provided with a summarized version of each employee’s chat responses and the certificate of completion. These responses can be a prompt for further safety discussions. Summaries and certificates of completion are sent the next business day after completion.
Fleet Insurance Rates.
Providing a fleet driver safety program often allows a company to benefit in the reduction of corporate insurance rates (dependent upon the insurance carrier). We can help you provide a summary and completion report for your enrolled drivers for this purpose.
Can I print a certificate upon completion?
No, the certificates must be signed and officially stamped by AlertDriver. You cannot print your certificate from your computer.
Are there any computer requirements?
There are videos sprinkled throughout the course in which we recommend a higher speed internet connection. Most of the videos are less than 2 minutes. We do not recommend using cell phones to take the course..
What is the no-fail course model?
AlertDriver is modeled as an e-learning experience with immediate feedback and interactive questions. There are 39 sections. You will read a small section and then answer a question. If you answer the question correctly, you will move on to the next section. However, if you answer incorrectly, the software will highlight a section to read over. Your question will change slightly before you move on to the next section.
I did not get my username and password.
If we get bounce backs on our email to you, we will always try and contact you immediately. That is why it is important to leave a phone contact number when you register.
Help! I cannot log on!
This rarely happens, but the most likely cause is an error in your username or password. Remember, the username and passwords are case sensitive. The best method is to copy and paste your username and password directly from our initial email onto the website when you log in.
