“Honestly, this course is perfect, from the short videos to the quick questions at the end, it really kept learning about new driving skills fun and intuitive.” NE, 17
“I would suggest making this a requirement for Driver's Education and a requirement for renewing your license.” JM, 45
“Program was concise, accurate, and relatable. Will recommend program to others who may need a refresher.” BF, 28
“I loved how we got to read the responses of others who have been in similar situations.” ML, 19
“Honestly, the whole course gave me a lot of tips. My daughter will be taking this before she starts driving as well.” JS, 44
“This course was very much an eye opener for my driving skills. I am truly embarrassed at how I was not aware of my surroundings, how fast I was going, or that I was an aggressive driver.” MS, 37
“I was interested the fatigue risk-management portion of the program. A tired, distracted driver is a dangerous one and should not be on the road in this condition.” DC, 60
“I give the course 5 stars because it perfectly encapsulates everything you need to know in a practical and informative way.” JL, 20
“The science behind driving is fascinating.” AS, 20
“All in all the course has been excellent!! I really thought it was going to be a drag!” RB, 51
“I thought it was brilliantly put together and the exercises are an interesting way to practice what was learned. They will keep me focused on the road.” BS, 21
“I really enjoyed the format. The sections were broken down in a way that made them quick to complete and digest. The use of various visual aids such as videos and exercises kept the material engaging.” CG, 33
“This course was absolutely amazing. I have never looked that deep in to driving even though I'm a pretty safe driver there were still things to learn.” JM, 30
“Great course and that's saying a lot, considering that I train drivers for a living! The Course is very thorough!” RM, 59

Introducing Web-Based Interactive Driver Training
AlertDriver uses a scientific approach to driver training that focuses on the how and why of distracted and aggressive driving. We introduce new techniques to enrich driver attention habits, improve behavioral observation skills for risky situations, and instill a sense of courtesy and community into each driver’s road habits. Our programs have evolved over 10 years with feedback from over 8000 drivers.
We’ve discovered a new toolbox for driver training, yet it has taken the full decade to learn how to use the tools effectively. Web-based training enables us to deliver high quality, individualized driver education reinforced with rich media content. For the first time, there is interactivity between members of a group. Drivers with down time in diverse locations can log on to complete lessons and supervisors can communicate with drivers about new safety advice. Never before have we had the opportunity to introduce new company-wide “norms” about safe practices.
At AlertDriver, we started with a well-edited textbook, Disciplined Attention, that was popular enough to have 6 printings in 5 years. We put it online with the help of instructional designers and evaluators. Before/after evaluation is integral to each student’s progress. We also started to enlist driver feedback so that drivers tell us what they like and what they don’t like about our course. We listened.
Customer feedback forces us to keep our content relevant and entertaining. It pushes us to include new, scientific findings and to translate those messages with videos, short slide shows, and interactive discussion. Most importantly, it allows us to keep our material meaningful for today’s traffic. We receive incredibly positive feedback from drivers who dread taking one more driver’s ed course. Our customers give rave reviews and tell us that our courses are refreshing and innovative. (see more reviews)
Each method for driver training has its pitfalls and poorly designed web-based instruction is no exception. The Department of Defense talks about “Death by PowerPoint” in which too much useless information is thrown at drivers (without feedback) so that they tune out. Top insurance companies document tales of expensive seminars only to have sparse attendance because of bad weather. We frequently hear drivers complain they sat through 8 hours of outdated and boring material that did not address today’s traffic problems. Many course developers don’t take the time to write meaningful content because so much free material is readily available on the web. They try to use it all without careful instructional design, producing poor learning outcomes.
The most serious claim against driver education is that measurable results are scarce. Driver education that is not evaluated can waste a safety manager’s budget. All AlertDriver courses have an integral before/after evaluation built into the course. We use scientific data to 1) instruct, 2) evaluate and 3) give personalized feedback.
A data-based approach gives cost-conscious safety managers distinct benefits. First, we evaluate outcomes and can prepare a report for your company on the important attitude and behavior changes as a result of your investment. Second, we give individualized student feedback, over time, about how each driver compares with other drivers in the “norm” group. Finally, we use your drivers’ interactive comments as the basis for new instruction – daily. Much of our content derives from drivers with years of safe road experience. No other program does this.
AlertDriver offers measurable risk management with proven results. Well designed web-based driver training can fulfill a safety manager’s need to deliver top quality training at minimum cost.
